ZAK NOYLE - photographer
Hailing from Hawaii, Zak is one of the most highly-regarded surf photographers of all time. Combining his talent for swimming in massive waves with an eye for aquatic beauty, you can look to him to push the limits of surf imagery. Jet-setting between exotic places like Tahiti, Japan, and the Caribbean, his photos can be seen everywhere from Apple ads to H&M store openings.
1. Who are you?
Zak Noyle, age 30 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
2. Describe your medium & process.
Swimming in big large barrels around the world, with only fins and a camera in hand.
3. How did you find your passion? Who/what influences your work?
I found my passion through my love for the ocean. Being able to capture something that very few can ever see with their own eyes; it drives me to create and share. I am influenced by my father, Ric Noyle, a commercial photographer with a passion for detail.
4. What excites you about your work? What do you struggle with?
I am excited by searching for new angles or different looks, especially ones that people had previously thought to be impossible. I struggle with procrastinating, but I mean well.
5. What are your goals? Where do you see yourself going?
My goals are to have fun and grow and keep pushing my self as a photographer. Never stay still and always innovate and swim deeper!
